"Serving the Ground Zero workers
and people of New York through the Billy
Graham Prayer Center and the Salvation Army was a privilege and we feel
honored to have participated in this short but life changing trip. There are
too many experiences and emotions to put in this short page but we can say
that the highlight of the experience for us was meeting and talking with the
firefighters, police men and women and other workers who trusted us with
their thoughts and words in any way.
In our orientation session before we began working, we heard that the divorce
and suicide rates in Oklahoma City doubled and have stayed at that rate since
the bombing of the federal building. You can imagine the ongoing needs of
New Yorkers in the days to come. The Church has a unique opportunity to pray
for and serve these people. We are sorry we only could stay for a week!"
